Eric J. Beane is a Trial Attorney in the Civil Division's Federal Programs Branch at the U.S. Department of Justice. Eric defends the United States in civil litigation involving challenges to government authority. His primary areas of practice include constitutional law, administrative and regulatory law, and economic sanctions law. Eric has served as lead counsel in challenges brought pursuant to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and has participated in task forces concerning faith-based and community initiatives and religious freedom. Prior to working at the Department of Justice, Eric was a law clerk for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
