Mr. Roger Severino

Roger Severino is an attorney in the Housing and Civil Enforcement of the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, which is charged with enforcing the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act and the Fair Housing Act among other civil rights laws. Previously, Mr. Severino was Legal Counsel for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, an interfaith public-interest law firm in Washington D.C., where he worked on religious freedom cases under immigration, land-use, free speech, and international law. Mr. Severino has contributed articles on church and state for the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, and the New Republic Online, has been quoted by the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, and the Weekly Standard, and has made several radio appearances.

Mr. Severino received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Master's Degree in Public Policy with highest distinction from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration with honors from USC.
