Mr. Christopher Esseltine

Christopher Esseltine is a regulatory attorney practicing in the areas of health care and telecommunications. He counsels clients on compliance as well as fraud and abuse issues, with special emphasis on Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and the False Claims Act. He also has experience with political strategy and government relations. Christopher also works with the telecommunications industry, including a watershed case involving the hotly disputed issue of cable provider access.
Prior to joining Arent Fox, Christopher was an attorney with Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). In addition to working on the legal issues that affect the pharmaceutical industry, he engaged in strategic planning and lobbying and served as assistant counsel to the PhRMA Coalition. Before attending law school, Christopher worked as a lobbyist in state government. In 2003, he worked for the Michigan Senate Majority Policy Office, where he drafted groundbreaking corporate ethics legislation. In 2004, he clerked for the Honorable Henry Saad, Michigan Court of Appeals.
Christopher is admitted to practice in both Michigan and DC. He received a BA from Brigham Young University (cum laude) and a J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law. Christopher lives in Virginia with his wife and three children. He is active in his church and is in the process of preparing two law review articles. He is also writing a book of political and social commentary.
